We are happy to offer this tour!!! Once one of the largest inland lakes in the world, the Aral
Sea has shrunk significantly in recent decades. Located in Central Asia, it borders Kazakhstan
in the north and Uzbekistan in the south. Historically, the Aral Sea has been an important
source of water and fish for the surrounding areas, but since the 1960s, it has been drying up
due to the diversion of the rivers that fed it, particularly the Amudarya and Syrdarya, for
irrigation purposes during the Soviet era. As a result, the water level of the Aral Sea dropped
sharply and its volume decreased by almost 90%.
Itinerary
Day 1
Check point: Start early morning at 6:00 am from Khiva (Sedan car).
Visit Chilpik Kala (Tower of Silence).
Visit Nukus Art Museum.
Arrival in Muynak, lunch at local cafe.
Visit Muynak State Local History Museum (watch history video).
Visit the Ship Graveyard.
Transfer to 4WD: Start Aral Sea trip.
Overview of Ustyurt Plateau canyons (Cosmic landscape) & Tombs of Nomads.
Arrival to Aral Sea (~18:30). Stroll along seashore, swimming opportunity.
Overnight at Yurt Camp (Sheraga/Fresh water shower/Restroom).
19:30 Dinner in dining room.
Day 2
Sunrise viewing over the Aral Sea.
07:00 Breakfast.
08:00 Departure for return journey.
Visit Kurgancha-kala (XII-XVI c.) fortified trading post.
Arrive Muynak, change 4WD back to Sedan. Lunch at local cafe.

It is cold at the seashore in mornings/evenings. Bring a sweater/jacket.
If you have chronic illnesses, don't forget your medication.
Always carry water with you.
Stay close to your guide and vehicle.
Safety: Stay at least 2 meters away from the edge of Ustyurt Plateau.
